Southern Legion 6-Week Transformation: Week 1 Done!

What a week! Our 10 trainees have braved the dark and freezing cold evenings to start their 6-wk transformation challenge, and have shown unbelievable spirit and enthusiasm. We know from their video diaries (more of those later) that they were all nervous, but being part of a group who all have the same goals and fears has kept them motivated and on track.

These first weeks are all about setting a pattern for training, i.e. getting into the mindset of training regularly, and introducing the basic movements. Mastering the squat is no.1 on the agenda, as this movement is the foundation on which everything else is built, along with kettlebell swings and sit-ups. However, in an risky move that could have sent our trainees running for the hills, Coach Ray decided to introduce BURPEES in the first week! There is surely method in his madness (maybe the ‘rip the plaster straight off’ theory?) and if our trainees are going to see the best transformation possible then there’s probably no better way for beginners to burn fat and build muscle than the dreaded burpee.

Over the next few weeks we will be bringing you photos, video diaries and the stories of our 10 trainees so that you can really get behind them and make sure they succeed. But for now, keep going team, your commitment and hard work this week has been inspiring and shows you’ve got what it takes to do this!!
